Digital Khata Book — Udhaar Ledger for Money Lent & Borrowed
Your udhaar khata, minus the notebook
A paper khata gets lost, torn or 'forgotten' exactly when someone owes you money. The Digital Khata Book keeps a permanent, dated ledger of every rupee you gave and received — person by person.
Add a person with their number, address, payment mode and the amount that just moved, and the balance is there from the first second. Two tabs answer the only two questions a khata exists for: I Lent Money, and I Borrowed Money.
Why people use the Khata Book
Every person gets their own card with their outstanding balance, and their own dated ledger behind it.
I Lent Money and I Borrowed Money — no accounting words to decode, and the direction can never be entered backwards.
You add a person because money just moved — so the amount, date and note are part of Add Party, not a second form.
Total to receive, total to pay and your net balance, updated with every entry.
Duration, total cash in, total cash out, final balance and a running-balance table — downloadable as a real PDF.
Share a dated summary of the balance as a polite reminder, straight to their number.
How it works
Name, number, address, payment mode — and the amount that just changed hands.
पैसा दिया when money leaves your hand, पैसा मिला when it comes in. Both from the person's own card.
Running balance per person plus your overall position, always current.
Share a WhatsApp summary, or download the statement PDF when settling up.

Khata Book — Frequently Asked Questions
Is this like a traditional udhaar khata?
Yes — but dated, permanent and calculated for you. Record money you gave and money you got per person, and the balance is always current.
Can I add the amount while adding the person?
Yes. You add someone because money just moved, so Add Party takes the amount, date and note and records that first entry with the person.
How do I know who owes me money?
Two tabs — I Lent Money and I Borrowed Money — list everyone with their balance, plus your overall net position.
Can I send a payment reminder?
Yes — a WhatsApp share with the dated balance, or the full statement PDF if they want the detail.
What happens when an account is settled?
The person stays on the list marked Settled, with the full history intact — a cleared account should be provable, not deleted.
